ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Aftab Sultan has presented his resignation to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif citing personal reasons.
The prime minister appreciated the services of Aftab Sultan and lauded his honesty and uprightness.
Upon his insistence, the prime minister reluctantly accepted the resignation.
Aftab Sultan was appointed as the Chairman NAB on July 21, 2022.
Previously, he had served as the Director General Intelligence Bureau (IB) from June 2013 to June 2018.
Born in 1954, Sultan belongs to district Faisalabad and holds Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees. He joined the police force as the Assistant Superintendent of Police in 1977 and was promoted to the Office of Superintendent of Police in 1983.
