RAWALPINDI: The Federal Investigative Agency (FIA) on Tuesday submitted a challan before an anti-terrorism court of Rawalpindi in the Benazir Bhutto murder case, declaring former president Pervez Musharraf main accused in the case.
The FIA presented four-point challan in the light of American journalist Mark Siegel’s statement. He is a friend of PPP’s slain chairperson Benazir Bhutto.
The challan formally declares Musharraf a main suspect in the case. He is likely to be indicted in the case in upcoming hearings.
The FIR officials said that Musharraf could not present solid evidences to prove his innocence during the interrogation.
The court later adjourned the case till July 2 and ordered authorities to present the former military ruler in the next hearing.
