ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday said that the government has taken effective measures to maintain prices of live chicken at Rs 145 per kilogram during the financial year 2016-17.

Addressing a post-budget press conference in Islamabad on Saturday, he said that no additional tax has been imposed on poultry products in the budget in a bid to maintain its prices in next two years.

Ishaq Dar said that live chicken would be sold at Rs 145 per kilogram and its meat would be available in the market at Rs 200 per kilogram.

The Minister said that the representatives of Pakistan Poultry Association and other stakeholders have agreed to maintain prices for next two year.
