ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The governments of Pakistan and China have mutually agreed to postpone the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jingping to Pakistan in view of the current political situation in Pakistan, the Foreign Office said on Saturday.
The Foreign Office said that the Chinese president’s visit was scheduled to take place later in September.
It said that new dates for Xi Jingping’s visit to Pakistan at an early date are being discussed through diplomatic channels.
“Both sides attach high importance to the visit of President Xi Jinping to Pakistan, as early as possible, for promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries,” the Foreign Office said.
