Monitoring Desk: The next Congress of News Agencies World Council (NACO) will be held in Sofia on June 13-14, reports Azerbaijan State News Agency AZERTAC.
A planning meeting (Session) will also be held in Sofia, Bulgaria on March 7, 2019 to finalise World Congress.
According to details, the decision of holding next Congress on June 13-14 in Sofia Bulgaria was taken place during the NACO meeting which concluded in London, UK.
Participants of meeting approved four breakout sessions for Congress including “New sources of income”, “Fake news”, “Artificial Intelligence”, and “Diversification” which will be moderated by four persons.
News Agencies world over are facing serious financial crises due to several reasons including of inflow of free information in social media and finding new sources of income is a serious issue for News agencies all over the world. “Fake News” is also another very important issue being faced by professional and credible media organisations and these two important issues are on agenda in next Congress.
It may be mentioned that the meeting was attended by the heads and representatives of international news agencies, including AZERTAC, Press Association of United Kingdom, US Associated Press, DPA News Agency of Germany, TASS Russia, EFE Spain, KUNA, BTA and AGERPRES.
Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) and the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) also attended the event.
