ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Interior and Planning, Development and Reforms Ahsan Iqbal on Friday said continuity of policies was essential for economic stability.
“We have to move forward in the fields of science and technology to achieve sustainable development and prosperity,” the minister said while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of National Centre of Artificial Intelligence in Islamabad.
The minister said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had made Pakistan centre of attention, adding Pakistan was now being recognized as an emerging economy by the World’s renowned financial institution due to prudent economic policies of the government.
Ahsan Iqbal said the federal government had chalked out vision 2025 to address the long term challenges and for the promotion of knowledge-based economy.
The planning and development minister said the present government laid the foundation of several initiatives with regard to knowledge revolution. It would establish one campus of university in every district, he added.
The federal minister said the government was committed to empower the people of backward areas of the Country to ensure their contribution towards development.
Furthermore, he said artificial intelligence was an important pillar of fourth industrial revolution. He said establishment of National Centre for Artificial Intelligence would bring their Country on the World’s map of artificial intelligence. He said the technology would also create numerous opportunities of job within Country.
