Country-wide protest rallies in Pakistan against sitting government
Islamabad: To mark first anniversary of 2013 general elections in Pakistan, country-wide protest rallies were staged in all major cities of the country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan and Karachi. Rallies were led by leaders of Jamaat Islami Pakistan, Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI), Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) and Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid).
Chief (Ameer) Jamaat Islami Sirajul Haq held protest rally in Lahore and demanded a corruption free social state instead of a system that brought corrupt politicians in parliament. PAT and PMLQ held rally in Lahore and Karachi against corruption of sitting government of Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz). However allegations of corruption were not specific but general that country was facing corruption in every department.
Workers of PAT and PTI also held separate rallies in Karachi outside Election commission office against alleged rigging in 2013 general elections. Biggest rally was held in the capital of Pakistan Islamabad by PTI chief Imran Khan that was attended by thousands of people.
