ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Though large-scale restrictions have now somewhat been eased in Pakistan but the outburst of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) yet remains on the peak, a worrying sign as the death tally continues to move in an upward trajectory as well.

As per the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) data on April 18, the number of Coronavirus infected persons throughout the Country has amounted to 7,638 while 143 of them of have breathed their last, registering a death ratio of 1.9 percent.

However, 1,832 patients have been healed from the disease with a 24.0 percent recovery ratio.

The data tells that 92,548 COVID-19 Tests have so far been conducted across the Country.

In addition, it tells that 62 percent infections occurred through local transmission while 38 percent patients had returned from abroad.

With 3,410 Confirmed Cases and 37 deaths, Punjab remains the worst affected province but it has also recorded 672 recoveries.

In Sindh, 2,355 Cases, 47 deaths and 581 recoveries have been recorded yet whereas Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has detected 1,077 COVID-19 Cases, and 50 of them have died and 216 have been recovered.

Similarly, Balochistan has so far recorded 335 Cases, 5 deaths and 142 recoveries; Gilgit-Baltistan has recorded 250 Cases, 3 deaths and 192 recoveries; whereas Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) has witnessed 48 Cases and 9 recoveries.

The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) has dealt with 163 COVID-19 patients. Of them, 20 have got recovered now while 1 has passed away.
