ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday categorically said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would be completed at all costs despite impediments being created in its way by certain elements.
While responding to the points of opposition members in the National Assembly who raised concerns on the recent attack on a hotel in Gwadar, the foreign minister said there was a complete national consensus on the mega corridor project, and the entire nation and the Parliament would foil any conspiracy of the enemy against it.
Qureshi said the completion of CPEC would increase Pakistan’s regional connectivity and open a new vista of cooperation with the Central Asian States.
The foreign minister said the enemies of Pakistan who wanted to stoke instability in the Country would be defeated, and the Country will be put on the path of economic development.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi appreciated Pakistan army for timely responding to the attack on the Gwadar hotel and eliminating the terrorists there.
Referring to a Constitution (Amendment) Bill laid before the House relating to the Constitution of South Punjab Province, Qureshi invited all opposition parties to make joint efforts to legislate on the bill.
