RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the elements involved in the Karak temple incident will be dealt with an iron hand as per the law, and they will be duly punished.

In a Twitter statement on Saturday, the minister said that 36 people including the mastermind of the Karak incident have been arrested.

Sheikh Rashid said that it is the government’s responsibility to protect all religious minorities in the Country. He said that no person, regardless of his political or religious affiliation, will be allowed to disrespect sacred places of any religion.

The interior minister also said that the Karak temple incident was an attempt to malign Pakistan and the elements behind the Case are those who have been exposed by the European Union’s DisinfoLab.

Meanwhile talking to media representatives in Rawalpindi, Sheikh Rashid said that the government has launched the Online Visa System for 191 Countries which will eradicate corruption and ensure transparency besides addressing complaints of the people.

The minister said that 200,000 applications were received on the very first day of Online Visa.

The interior minister further said that 1.5 million Afghan refugees are allowed to live in Pakistan while 200,000 illegal National Identity Cards have been blocked. He said that 300 Mobile Vans of NADRA will visit different areas across the Country to facilitate the masses.
