The curtailment of gas was just being made in Punjab province and according to Article 158 of the Constitution gas supply couldn’t be disturbed in gas producing provinces, she added, saying priority chart was applying only in Punjab province.
She said government was making efforts to maximum gas supply to textile industry in winter season.
The Parliamentary secretary added that steps were also being taken to discover new reservoirs of gas and 46 leases were given and 108 wells were dug in this regard.
She said after removal of sanctions on Iran, the gas pipeline project would also be executed to overcome the gas shortage in Pakistan.
She hoped that TAPI project would be completed in 2019.
Tiwana said the current government had succeeded to import LNG on reasonable prices, saying the former two governments have failed to achieve this target.
