Islamabad, Pakistan: Defence Minister Kh Asif while addressing in National Assembly on Friday blasted the United States over accusing Pakistan of harboring terrorism while ignoring human rights abuses and even lynching of non-Hindus in India.
Addressing National Assembly after the US released the “Joint Statement from the United States and India” that blamed Pakistan for investing in terrorism and harboring terrorists in Pakistan, Kh Asif was of the view that Pakistan ruined its society in the love for the United States in 75 years history of the country, particularly in supporting US policies in Afghan Jihad that brought terrorism, intolerance, religious and sectarian extremism, drugs and weapon culture in Pakistan but US had never appreciated our sacrifices and our blind following of US policies and whenever it has the opportunity, it (USA) harmed Pakistan to please India.
It is pertinent to mention that the “Joint Statement from the United States and India” issued by the US Department of State accused Pakistan on several counts of supporting terrorism.
The statement is self-explanatory that the US collaborates with India to curtail China in Indo-Pacific and is ready to follow guidelines given by India for future US-Pak relationships. In their Joint Statement, Indian Prime Minister Modi and US President Biden accused Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups and “reiterated the call for concerted action against all UN-listed terrorist groups including Al-Qa’ida, ISIS/Daesh, Lashkar e-Tayyiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and Hizb-ul-Mujhahideen. They strongly condemned cross-border terrorism, the use of terrorist proxies and called on Pakistan to take immediate action to ensure that no territory under its control is used for launching terrorist attacks”.
No reaction came from Pakistan’s Foreign Office till the filing of this report.
