Defence of Pakistan remained impregnable during year 2016: ISPR
Islamabad, Pakistan: Pakistan Armed forces continued to its journey of excellence in the year of 2016 when Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Army wrote new chapter of achieving superiority over its enemies.
Muti-pronged fight against terrorism continued by Pakistan Armed forces and targets of Zarb-e-Azb were achieved. As many as 583 soldiers and officers gave their lives to protect the country while fighting with terrorist while 2100 soldiers and officers got serious injuries. As many as 3,500 terrorists were killed by armed forces during year 2016.
According to a twitter message of the Director General of Inter Service Public Relations of Pakistan Army, the defence of the country remained impregnable.
Pakistan successfully tested enhanced version of Babur cruise missile and indigenously produced air launched Ra’ad missile.
Arrangements for actualisation and security of CPEC had been a top priority during year 2016 and construction of 87O km road network was achieved along with raising of Special Security Division.
Pakistan Navy (PN) successful test launched of Shore-based Anti-ship Missile “Zarb”. Meanwhile Surface to Surface Anti-ship Missile firing was tested in the North Arabian Sea. PN proved its vigilance and operational preparedness by detecting and blocking Indian Submarine from entering in Pakistani waters at south of Pakistani coast.
The target of raising “Task Force 88” for CPEC maritime security was also achieved.
Pakistan Air Force (PAF) targeted strikes on terrorist’s hideouts in support of Zarb-e-Azb.
Earth breaking of Air Power Center of Excellence to enhance PAF capacity was also took place during year 2016.
PAF C-130 won best AC trophy at Royal international tattoo show UK among 50 nations. Defence collaboration with Nigeria for provision of Mushshak was materialized during year 2016.
