More than Rs 1 billion expenses were incurred on 37 by-elections held across the Country in 2022, the Senate was told.
Sharing the data with the Upper House of the Parliament, the Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Javed Abbasi told that 13 by-elections of National Assembly and 24 by-elections of Provincial Assemblies were held last year, costing Rs 1,059,944,948 in total.
It was told that Rs 535,375,714 were incurrent for conducing the by-polls for National Assembly Seats and Rs 524,569,234 were spent on Provincial Assemblies by-elections.
