Doctors say Musharraf still under mental stress

RAWALPINDI: Former President Pervez Musharraf, who is admitted to a military hospital in Rawalpindi after he suffered heart problem, is still under mental stress, his doctors said referring to medical tests of former president carried out on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the counsel of Musharraf, Ahmed Raza Kasuri, said that in the light of the test results, a team of doctors will decide today whether or not his client could be allowed to leave the hospital and appear in the special court for high treason case hearing tomorrow.  “We are not afraid of the courts, he will appear in the court after his complete recovery,” Kasuri said.

According to doctors, the former president is improving and quite well, but he is still under mental stress.

Earlier in the morning, a fire broke out in the Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC) where former military ruler Pervez Musharraf is under treatment for over two weeks. However, the fire which erupted due to an electrical short circuit was extinguished immediately.

The former president was shifted to the military hosptial in Rawalpindi earlier this month after he suffered heart problem on his way to the special court to appear before it for the treason case.
