The US President Joe Biden has nominated Donald Armin Blome as the next Ambassador to Pakistan.

Ambassador Blome’s expertise as a senior diplomat and extensive experience is a testament to the importance of our bilateral relationship,” the US Embassy in Islamabad wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.

“Mission Pakistan is delighted to share the news that President Biden has announced his intent to nominate Donald Armin Blome as Ambassador to Pakistan,” the Embassy wrote.

Donald Armin Blome, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, class of Minister-Counselor, is currently the US Ambassador to Tunisia.

Prior to that, Ambassador Blome was Chargé d’Affaires a.i. at the Libya External Office in Tunis, Tunisia, Consul General at the US Consulate in Jerusalem, and Director, Office of Arabian Peninsula Affairs at the US Department of State.

He has also served as Political Counselor, Embassy Kabul, Afghanistan and Minister-Counselor for Economic and Political Affairs at the US Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

Earlier in his career, Ambassador Blome served as the Civilian Co-Director, Multinational Force Strategic Engagement Cell, Baghdad, Political Counselor, Embassy Kuwait, and as Israel Desk Officer, Deputy Director and Acting Director, Office of Israel and Palestinian Affairs.
