DHAKA: At least 30 people sustained injuries after Bangladesh’s capital was struck by the latest anti-government protest by the opposition parties in a bid to press the government to release its arrested-members.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party, the country’s main opposition, and its 17 allies staged the protest to enforce a nationwide strike on Tuesday to press the government for the release of over 150 opposition members arrested during earlier anti-government protests.

Opposition activists detonated small homemade bombs and set fire to several vehicles in the protest. Police officials said at least 30 people were injured in the violence.
