ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Dr Amir Mohammad Khan Jogazai has excused to accept the Office of the Governor Balochistan.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Imran Khan nominated Dr Amir Mohammad Khan Jogazai as the Governor Balochistan.
However in a video message, Dr Amir Jogazai excused to accept the Post, saying that he doesn’t want anyone to be maligned because of him.
Dr Amir Jogazai said that he is grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan and Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) for having trust on him. He said that he holds a political background, and whose brother and nephews have been governor and ministers. He said that for him, respect for Imran Khan is above all things.
Therefore, he added that for the sake of his family, friends and particularly Imran Khan’s respect, he is not accepting this Office. He said that the governorship doesn’t carry much importance to him; rather, dignity and respect is of foremost significance for him.
Dr Amir Jogazai also said that he hasn’t been named in any reference prepared by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) or in any FIR. He said that the only case which is being talked about is of 2005, and that is related to WWF and WWB.
