ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that the US drone strike that killed Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud among five other militants in North Waziristan on Friday evening showed who was against the government efforts to hold dialogues with the Taliban.
Talking to media representative in Islamabad, the PTI chief termed the US drone attack as a conspiracy to sabotage efforts to hold peace talks with the insurgents.
Imran said that the government had officially informed that a delegation was going to hold peace talks with the Taliban, adding that the attack on the occasion was aimed to spread anarchy in the country.
“The Taliban had denied their involvement in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa blasts and today it is also proved that who was behind those explosions.”
The PTI chief further said that the assault would damage the Pakistan’s relationship with the US. “We would bring a resolution condemning drone attacks in the assembly.”
