DUBAI, UAE: In recognition of their exemplary conduct and honesty in the line of duty, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has honored 101 drivers.
From January 2022 to March 2023, these drivers ensured the return of valuable lost items worth in millions left behind in cabs to their owners in record time.
The items found by the drivers included cash, jewellery, and other valuable items which included a black bag containing diamonds valued at AED 1 million, cash amounting AED 3.6 million dirhams, a plastic bag containing gold worth AED 200,000, an expensive handbag and a watch valued at US$ 50,000, cash amount of AED 183,000, a black bag with AED 200,000, and an expensive watch worth of US$ 60,000, in addition to AED 221,000 in cash.

The drivers reported the found items to the concerned bodies to enable their return to their owners with honesty.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Public Transport Agency Ahmed Bahrozyan said that “Reports of lost and found items by drivers are a source of joy for everyone. They set excellent examples of honesty, integrity, good manners, and responsibility.”
“Furthermore, such conduct not only reveals the true character of the individuals involved but also contributes to a positive image of Dubai’s transportation systems,” Ahmed Bahrozyan said.
