ISLAMABAD/LAHORE, Pakistan: A powerful earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude jolted various parts of the Country including Islamabad and Lahore, causing panic among the people as they rushed towards the open areas.

Besides, strong tremors were also felt in Gujarat, Chiniot, Sheikhupura, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Chakwal, Sargodha, Malakand, Chitral, Swat, Gilgit, Haripur, Murree, Kohat, Parachinar, Nowshera, and Bajaur.

The earthquake was 6.1 on Richter Scale, and it depth was 210.2 kilometers below the surface of earth, just 51 kilometers of Jarm, Afghanistan, according to the US Geological Survey Earthquake.

As per Indian media reports, tremors felt in several parts of northern India including the Capital New Delhi.

Earlier on December 18, tremors were felt in the Federal Capital; however luckily it didn’t cause any causality or damage or property.
