Ashkasham, Afghanistan has become a constant spot for earthquakes and this region had seen disasters in last year as well. Earthquake came from deep (36.492°N 71.156°E depth=210.4 km (130.7 mi)) therefore it was felt as far as India. It may be mentioned that earthquake that comes from deep can be felt thousands miles away but usually disaster is not as horrible as done by any shallow earthquake. Depth of shallow earthquake is less (usually from 60 Km deep in earth to 10 Km or less).
It may be mentioned that October 2005 earthquake caused over 80,000 deaths in Pakistan and this was one of the worst earthquakes ever reported in the region.
