ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Science and Technology Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the government and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) have principally agreed to the use of technology in the next general elections in 2023.
Talking to the media after briefing the Election Commission on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in Islamabad on Tuesday, the minister said that the ECP expressed its satisfaction on the EVMs.
The minister said that the Election Commission has constituted a technical team to test the perfection of these machines.
Shibli Faraz said that it is the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan to overcome human interference in the elections to make the process transparent.
The science and technology minister said that the Parliament will do necessary legislation according to the requirements of the Election Commission of Pakistan.
