ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Election Commission of Pakistan has received 2958 nomination papers for Local government Elections in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT).
Out of total nomination papers, 376 candidates filed their nomination papers for the seats of Chairman and Vice chairman and 1502 for general member seat.
For women seat 401 candidates filed nomination papers, for workers seats 282, on seats for Youth 282 and 115 filed nomination papers against seats for minority members.
It is pertinent to mention here that ECP will hold local government elections in ICT on November 30.
Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held from October 31 to November 04, 2015.
Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers by the Returning Officers can be filed on November 05 and 06. Appeals will be disposed of from of November 07 to 09. Candidates can withdraw their names till November 10.
Final list of contesting candidates with symbols allotted to them will be published on November 11, 2015. The results of the local government elections will be declared on December 03.
