ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission has formally launched E-Ticket Service for voters, enabling them to receive details for polling stations in their areas just through an SMS.
By launching this service, the ECP has banned issuance of paper ticket on the polling day.
The service was launched by Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaque Ahmed Khan at the Election Commission office in Islamabad today.
Elaborating on the service, Khan said that the voters could inquire about their constituency and details of polling stations through SMS on 8300 by sending their Computerized National Identity Card Number.
Replying to a question, he said army would be deployed on all the sensitive and most sensitive polling stations.
Khan claimed that there is no possibility for the stealing of ballot papers, adding that polling stations and polling constituencies have been linked up with the SMS.
