ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal minister of state for education Balighur Rehman has said that efforts are underway to bring a uniform curriculum after consultation with the provinces.

In his address while distributing awards and cash prizes amongst the toppers of Federal Board of Intermediate Secondary Education in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that the government will provide teachers to 100 religious seminaries to impart primary education.

The state minister said that Rs50 million have been allocated this year for the capacity building of teachers. He said that education budget has substantially been increased and we want to take it four percent of gross domestic product (GDP).

CDWP approves six projects of HEC

Meanwhile, the central development working party (CDWP) in a meeting presided over by the minister for planning and development Ahsan Iqbal in Islamabad approved six projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC) for new universities and strengthening the existing ones.

In his address at the meeting, the minister for planning said that with the approval of new university campus in Swat and strengthening of Gomal University in Dera Ismail Khan, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government is partaking with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Higher Education.
