ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Senator Dr. Sania Nishtar has said that Ehsaas 8171 SMS Service to register deserving families for the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme is closing tomorrow at 12 midnight.
While announcing the closure of Ehsaas Rashan registration of families, Dr. Sania Nishtar said that January 26, 2022 is the last date for low-income families to register themselves under the Rashan Riayat programme of Ehsaas.
The special assistant said that all arrangements are in final stages to roll out the programme in partnership with the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP).
“The registration of Karyana stores is not closing with 8171; and it will continue through the web-portal: ehsaasrahsan.pass.gov.pk,” she further said.

Before the 8171 closes at 12 midnight, families earning below Rs 50,000 monthly can sign up by sending their CNIC. Only one member of an applicant’s family whose mobile number is issued on his own Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) can register his family on 8171.
Under Ehsaas Rashan Riayat, a targeted subsidy of Rs 1,000 per month will be granted to each of the eligible families on the purchase of flour, pulses, cooking oil.
A subsidy of Rs 22 per kg will be given on the flour, Rs 55 per kg on pulses, and Rs 105 per liter/kg on cooking oil or ghee at the designated Kiryana shops.
In total, 20 million deserving families will be identified through the Ehsaas survey. Overall, 130 million people will benefit from the programme countrywide that equates to 53% of the population.
The provincial governments of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) are participating in the Ehsaas Rashan Riayat programme.
The federal government and all participating federating units are sharing fiscal resources in the proportion of 35/65.
