ISLAMABAD: Election Commission (EC) has postponed the decision of printing an empty box on the ballot paper-stating: ‘None of the above’. According to EC officials, there are some technical hindrance.

It may be mentioned that Secretary ECP Ishtiak Ahmad Khan on April 3, 2013 said that the ECP will make a request to the Prime Minister to have an ordinance issued to have the ‘none of the above’ box included in ballot papers for the upcoming elections. He stated that the ECP has formulated code of conduct for the media for the coverage of forthcoming general elections-2013. The Secretary ECP stated that ECP has summoned 24 former parliamentarians to appear before it on 5th April. “During a meeting of the ECP, under the chair of Chief Election Commissioner Justice (R) Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim the ECP also decided to post names of 189 former parliamentarians with unverified degrees on its website”, he stated, added that 189 former parliamentarians have not submitted their degrees of matriculation and intermediate.
