ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) consultative meeting for the selection of a caretaker prime minister concluded on Saturday without reaching any decision, the commission would reconvene tomorrow (Sunday) for a final decision, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
After today’s meeting‚ two members of the Commission – Justice (retd) Riaz Kiani from Punjab and Justice (retd) Shahzad Akbar from Khyber-Pakhtoonkhwa confirmed that no decision could be reached today.
They said member from Sindh Roshan Essani is returning to Islamabad from Karachi tonight and all the four members of the Commission with Chief Election Commissioner in the chair would meet tomorrow to conclude their deliberations.
According to Secretary Election Commission Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan, ECP will hold decisive session on appointment of caretaker PM tomorrow at 10.00am.
DND
