ISLAMABAD: In order to finalize security plan for the May 11 polls amid growing concerns as violence grips large swathes of the country, a meeting of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would be held today (Thursday).
Unlike the Punjab province where election campaign continues smoothly, rest of the provinces suffer from deadly violence with political parties demanding level playing field in the run-up for the upcoming elections.
The meeting would also be attended by representatives of provincial governments, ministry of defence and interior to devise comprehensive security plan for the election.
In the meeting, it would be decided as to where the army would be deployed to maintain the law and order during the election.
According to sources, details about the sensitive polling stations would also be presented in the meeting.
