Eleven shot dead including Pakistanis, Afghans near Iran border

GWADAR: Eleven person including Pakistanis and Afghans were shot dead by some unidentified assailants near the Pak-Iran border late Friday night, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on 21 December, 2012.

TV channels quoted Balochistan home secretary as saying that the deceased were illegally travelling to Iran.

Officials of the Balochistan Home Department told Dispatch News Desk (DND) that the 11 people, majority of them Pakistani and Afghan nationals, were heading to trespass the Pak-Iran border for their further destination to European countries for employment. When their vehicle reached in Putkan area of district Gwadar, some 932 kilometers away from the provincial capital, it was intercepted by unknown armed men.

The armed men opened indiscriminate fire, killing all the 11 people instantly. Later, the armed men fled from the scene leaving behind the deceased in a pool of blood.
