NAROWAL, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday said that elimination of economic disparity was the top most priority of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led government.
While addressing the Inaugural Ceremony of PM’s National Health Program in Narowal, the prime minister said that 160,000 health care cards were being distributed among the families in Narowal.
The prime minister said that the national health program was a greatest initiative of the incumbent government.
Earlier, the prime minister launched the National Health Programme in Narowal, aiming at catering to the health-care needs of people earning less than Rs 200 a day.
Under the program, suffering from seven major diseases would be provided medical treatment upto the cost of Rs 300,000.
The patients would be able to get additional medical care of Rs 300,000 in case the total cost exceeds the initial payment.
Health care cards would be provided to the families through a transparent computerised system.
Initially, the national health program was launched in Rahim Yar Khan and then expanded to three other districts as well including Narowal, Khanewal and Sargodha to benefit 3.5 million patients.
