ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb Monday said the entire nation stood with the valiant armed forces and saluted their sacrifices for the defence of the motherland.
Talking to a satellite TV channel after martyrdom of seven Pakistani Army personnel in Indian firing, the minister said no comprise would be made on the defence of the country.
She strongly condemned unprovoked Indian firing across the Line of Control (LoC), saying Pakistan was a peace loving country but it should not be considered as its weakness.
The Pakistan army had given a befitting response to the Indian firing, she said, adding that a befitting response was being given to India at all levels.
To a question, she said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had been holding consultations to make a strategy for raising the issue of Indian aggression at the international level.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanvir Hussain also condemned unprovoked firing by Indian forces, stating that precious lives were lost and civilians had been injured.
Rana Tanvir said that Pakistan would give a befitting response if Indian ceasefire violations at the LoC continue. He said that attempts for peace should not be considered weakness.
