ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that there is a vast scope for increasing the current Pakistan-Turkey trade volume of US$ 800 million, and vowed to take it to US$ 1 billion in the first phase and eventually to US$ 5 billion later, the Dispatch News Desk (DND) news agency reported.
While addressing the Pakistan-Turkey Business Forum in Islamabad on Friday, Erdogan said that we want to take the commercial relations between the two brotherly Countries to the same level as political ties.
Tayyip Erdogan said that Pakistan and Turkey can collaborate in a number of industries for their mutual benefit, adding that we should not allow protectionism or trade walls between us.

In his address at the forum, Prime Minister Imran Khan invited the Turkish business community to invest in different sectors of Pakistan especially tourism, mining and agriculture. He pointed out that Pakistan has a huge untapped potential in tourism including in beach and historic places.
The prime minister said that Pakistan can greatly benefit from the Turkish experience in the development of necessary infrastructure for the promotion of tourism. He said that Pakistan also desires to learn from the experiences of Turkey in the fields of agriculture and mining.
Imran Khan assured to fully facilitate Turkish business community including their joint ventures with Pakistani companies. He said that ours is the most business friendly government. He said that we have gained 20 places in the world ranking in ease of doing business, and reduced regulations to facilitate the businessmen.
The prime minister expressed the confidence that the business communities of both Pakistan and Turkey will come forward to benefit from the excellent political relationship that exist between the two Countries.
