ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Accountability Court Judge Arshad Malik has died of Coronavirus in Islamabad.
Sources said that Arshad Malik developed Coronavirus symptoms and eventually tested positive.
The former Accountability Court Judge was on the ventilator at a Private Hospital in Islamabad for the last one week. He is survived by two daughters and two sons.
Arshad Malik sentenced the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison on December 24, 2018 in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills Company (ASCL) Reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
In July 2020, the Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan dismissed the judge Arshad Malik from his post following a controversy revolving around his ‘leaked’ video tape.
Earlier on November 12, 2020, the Peshawar High Court (PHC) Chief Justice Waqar Ahmad Seth also passed away succumbing to COVID-19 at the age of 59.
In the last 24 hours, 55 more people lost their lives to Coronavirus in the Country while 3,262 new infections were recorded.
