ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The former Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry has formally announced his decision to join the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
In his address at a seminar on Kashmir Solidarity Day in Islamabad on Thursday which was also attended by the former AJK prime minister, the PTI Chairman Imran Khan welcomed the inclusion of Barrister Sultan Mahmood in his party.
Imran Khan said that Barrister Sultan has no corruption charges, and that he took good decisions for the people of Kashmir.
The PTI chief further said that local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been delayed due to the sluggish attitude from the administrations of Punjab and Sindh.
Imran Khan said that people in Pakistan and India are living their lives like animals, adding that only a small group of people are ruling the masses.
Barrister Sultan Mahmood remained the prime minister of AJK from July 1996 to July 2001, and was a Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader.
The sources said that Barrister Sultan Mahmood was completely disappointed by the PPP central leadership with regards to reformation in Azad Kashmir.
