RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: Faizabad will remain closed for all kind of traffic and Islamabad bound traffic will be diverted to Stadium Road.
According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi, City Traffic Police have finalized all arrangements and under the traffic plan issued by the CTP, heavy traffic will be stopped at different points on Pakistan Day particularly from 5 A.M to 2 P.M.
In order to make security foolproof for March 23rd Parade, heavy traffic will not be allowed to enter Rawalpindi city Thursday.
The CTO informed the Traffic Police Officers have been directed to make all out efforts to regulate traffic on city roads particularly on Pakistan Day.
He said the heavy traffic coming from Lahore and Murree via GT Road and Murree Road will be stopped from entering the city.
Heavy vehicles, including buses, trucks and trailers, coming from Lahore will be stopped at Gujrat, Kharian, Jhelum and Rawat.
Public transport vehicles coming from Murree will not be allowed to move towards the capital city from Lower Topa, Satra Meel toll plaza.
Six DSPs, 21 Inspectors/Incharges, 348 Warden Officers and 43 Junior Traffic Wardens would perform special duties on March 23 to regulate traffic on all roads, he said adding traffic from Faizabad interchange to Rawalpindi and Islamabad will remain suspended.
All traffic on Murree Road moving towards Islamabad will be diverted to use diversion point of Double Road Chowk and through 9th Avenue will enter Islamabad.
Whereas, the traffic coming from Koral Chowk will use Khanna Pull Service Road to enter Islamabad, after passing through Shamsabad via Double Road and 9th Avenue.
He informed Motorway and National Highway police have been requested not to allow heavy traffic coming from Peshawar to enter the city and should be stopped at Attock bridge, Harow bridge, Margalla, Taxila and Chungi No. 26.
