ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Friday demanded of the federal government to stop military operation in North Waziristan tribal region.
In a telephonic call made by the JUI-F chief to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif from New Delhi, the former said that the government should try to solve the issue through dialogue instead of conducting an operation in North Waziristan.
The JUI-F Chief further demanded of the government to remove the imposed curfew in the area and allow the injured persons to get medical treatment.

At least 23 militants were killed by the security forces late on Wednesday when a group of militants tried to ambush a security forces’ convoy when it was returning back from Khajuri checkpost area in Mirali Tehsil of North Waziristan where they had gone to rescue soldiers who were injured in an earlier suicide attack, a security official said.
On Thursday, the security forces killed 10 more terrorists mostly Uzbek in a search operation at Mirali Tehsil of North Waziristan.
The security forces launched the operation in the area after a suicide attack occurred at Khajuri checkpoint, killing at least four soldiers and injuring 25 others on Wednesday.
The military officials said that the entire tribal region had been under curfew for the past three days, adding that all markets and shops as well as schools and colleges had been closed and people were restricted to their doorsteps.
