ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The girls clinched the top positions of all Science and General groups in the results of the annual examination SSC Part-II 2016, of Federal Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (FBISE).

According to the FBISE result announced on Tuesday, a total of 82894 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 65890 passed while the total pass percentage was 79.49%.

In science group, a total number of 55562 regular candidates appeared in the exam out of which 51624 could pass the exam. In humanities group, a total number of 8149 candidates appeared in the exam out of which 6457 candidates passed the exam.

While among the private candidates, 13474 candidates appeared in the exam in science group out of which 5823 could pass the exam. While in the humanities group, a total of 5709 candidates appeared and 1986 could pass the exam.

The students who clinched the top positions including Manal Aamir from Army Public School & College for Girls Peshawar Cantt secured first position with 1032 marks in Science group while the second position was shared by Urooj Fatima from Army Public School & College Hyderabad Cantt and Aiman Gul from HITEC School & College for Girls Taxila Cantt with 1031 marks.

The third position was also shared by Areesha Ehsan from Army Public School for Girls, Lahore Cantt and Hifza Saeed from Army Public School and College for Girls, Multan Cantt and Areej Musharraf from Army Public School & College for Girls, Multan Cantt with 1030 marks.

While in Humanities Group the top three positions were clinched by the girls from Fauji Foundation College for Girls Rawalpindi Cantt including Areej Sajjad with 985 marks, Barira Sajjad with 982 and Rabia Imran with 977 marks respectively.

Speaking on the occasion as a chief guest Minister of State for Federal Education Engr Muhammad Baligh Ur Rahman congratulated the position holder students, their parents and concerned educational institutions.

The minister said that since the PML-N government took the charge, it has brought many reforms in the FBISE to facilitate the students.

FBISE is one of the best boards of Pakistan according to many of International surveys, and one should feel privileged to appear through this board, said the Minister.

He said that better boards systems, better exams settings and better exams checking system lead to a better overall education system. So “we should be focusing on quality of Education in Pakistan”.

Earlier, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr Mukhtar Ahmad on the event said that Pakistani educational institutions were competing with the world in education sector.

He introduce the position holder students with Prime Minister youth development programs including, laptop scheme, Fee reimbursement Program and Scholarships program and said that they can take benefit from the schemes.

FBISE has sent the results to all students appeared in the examination through SMS on their mobile numbers given by students.
