ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued notices to over 30,000 people to bring them into tax net, as a part of its drive to bring 100,000 people into tax net till June next year which is presently out of tax net.
The notices are being served with the help of data from National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA)‚ through Courier service to avoid human interaction, spokesperson of the FBR Riffat Shaheen Qazi said while inaugurating the taxpayers facilitation desk at National Press Club in Islamabad on Thursday.
The FBR spokesperson said that the board is making serious efforts to broaden the tax net.
Riffat said that during this drive 1,153 people have been registered with the FBR and National Tax Number has been issued to them.
The spokesman further said the FBR is preparing a data bank with the help of NADRA and other related departments.
