ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Syed Shabbar Zaidi held a meeting with Heads of Departments of National University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) on Tuesday to discuss the launch of the “Customs Internship Program” for the youth of Pakistan in June 2020.
As per the FBR, through the “Customs Internship Program” 200 BS/MS level students of top Universities in areas of Law, Public Financial Management, Economics, Finance, Public Policy and IT would get an opportunity to work in the field units of Pakistan Customs for a 10-12 weeks’ internship program.
The FBR said that a stipend of Rs 12,000 per month will be offered to interns in this regard.
Special Internship Program for High School Students will also be launched
Besides, a Special Internship Program for 200 High School Students will also be launched simultaneously with a stipend of Rs 4000-8000 for a 2-6 weeks internship program.
Separately, the Prime Minister’s National Internship Program will also be launched soon for fresh graduates under the Kamyab Jawan Program aimed at improving the employability of educated youth.
The six-month national internship program will be a joint initiative of government, universities and industry, and it will prepare the internee to be able to start regular job with a reasonable learning curve position.
