QUETTA, Pakistan: At least 23 suspected miscreants were arrested during a search operation by the Frontier Corps (FC) in Turbat district of troubled southwestern Balochistan province.
In a statement in Quetta on Saturday, the FC spokesman said that the search operation was carried out in Hoshab area of Turbat last night.
The FC spokesman further said that the operation was launched in the area after an attack on a post of Frontier Corps in Hoshab.
More than 19,500 suspected persons have been arrested in numerous operations conducted across the country as part of the implementation of anti-terror national action plan (NAP).
The NAP was adopted in a bid to eradicate terrorism from the country in the wake of the deadly terror attack that hit an army-run school in Peshawar on December 16, claiming lives of 150 persons mostly children.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked the provincial governments to implement the NAP in its letter and spirit in order to eradicate the menace of terrorism and extremism from the country.
