PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel were killed when unidentified militants opened fire on their vehicle near Patang Chowk at Ring road in Peshawar on Wednesday.
Talking to media, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Abbas Majeed Marwat said the attackers were riding motorcycles.
The SSP Operations said that as the vehicle carrying FC personnel reached near Patang Chowk, the militants opened fire on it.
Subsequently, two FC men died on the spot whereas the third lost his life while being transported to Peshawar’s Lady Reading Hospital.
Soon after the incident, the police and law enforcement agencies (LEAs) reached the site and cordoned off the entire area.
The Federal Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan strongly condemned the attack on FC vehicle in Peshawar and issued directive to apprehend assailants as soon as possible.
