ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government is ready to hold talks with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) but will not compromise on law and the constitution, the federal minister for water and power Khawaja Asif said in an interview.
The minister said that two committees to be formed for talks with the PTI and the PAT will include representatives from different political parties.
Earlier, the federal information minister Pervaiz Rasheed said that the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s deadline to the government is an attack on democracy.
In an interview to a private TV channel, Rasheed said that a party having only 35 seats in the National Assembly is giving the undemocratic calls.
The information minister said that a party which could not stage a sit-in for 24 hours would be unable to launch civil disobedience movement.
