ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government has decided to call much-awaited All Parties Conference (APC) on September 9 to evolve consensus on a new counter-terrorism policy.
The APC will be held in Prime Minister’s house in Islamabad on September 9, 2013 at 11:00am.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, at the behest of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, telephoned all political parties having representation in the Parliament.
The federal minister telephoned Pakistan People’s Party leader Khurshid Shah, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) Chief, Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Munawwar Hassan, Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Farooq Sattar and Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar Wali Khan and invited them to attend the APC meant to bring all parties on same page for measures against terrorism.
The interior minister also called up Hasil Bazenjo, Mehmood Achakzai, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Imtiaz Sheikh for the purpose.
Meantime, the PTI spokesperson Shirin Mazari said Imran Khan accepted the invitation to the conference.
