ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government may bring a constitutional amendment to expedite the process of across the board accountability, the Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said in an interview.

The minister said that the government believes in building consensus on all important national issues as it has done in the proposed electoral reforms through the Parliamentary Committee.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is highly expected to attend a session of the Lower House of the Parliament on Monday and give a policy statement on the issue of Panama leaks.

The information minister said that the prime minister will answer all the questions of the opposition regarding the Panama Papers in the National Assembly.

In reply to a question, Pervaiz Rasheed said that the government gave discretionary power to the judiciary for the formation of Judicial Commission to investigate Panama Papers revelations. He said that the government also included terms of reference (TORs) for the opposition in its TORs sent to the Chief Justice.

Furthermore, he said that the State Institutions have solid proves regarding black money kept by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan. Rasheed claimed that Imran Khan converted his black money into white through tax amnesty scheme.

Pervaiz Rasheed said that Imran Khan’s name was included in the Panama Papers but he managed to hide hit.
