ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for States and Frontier Regions (SAFFRON) Lt General (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch has said the government has prepared comprehensive recommendations for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) reforms.
Talking to a news channel, Qadir Baloch said he was working on FATA reforms from the day first and the ministry in its recommendations has presented three options.
The options include; to give status of a province or merge FATA in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province or made an Elected Executive Legislative Council (EELC), he added.
Qadir said, he personally was in favour to make an EELC of 40-50 members having control over all the governing matters.
He said all the stakeholders of FATA would be taken on board before taking any decision.
He said it was the priority of the government to rehabilitate two million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
The minister said special attention was required for reconstruction of FATA and he suggested to allocate three percent from divisible pool for development of the area.
