ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Engineer Muhammad Baligh ur Rahman said that the government was responsible to create conducive business atmosphere, provision of job opportunities and ensuring sustainable economic growth in the country.

Addressing a meeting with businessmen of the federal capital here at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry the other day, he said that the business community of any country was backbone of economy because of their services in the improvement of national economy.

He said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was on the mission to put country on the path of economic development and prosperity.

The rating of the government of PML-N, he said, has been much improved in last three years as the progress can be seen in different sectors of the country.

The government, he said, after assuming power devised a comprehensive programme which centers on four E’s like Elimination of Extremism and Terrorism, Strengthening the Economy, overcoming crippling Energy shortages and ensuring Education for all.

He said in achieving these goals, “We have adhered to the highest standards of probity, fairness and transparency”.

The minister said that with the efforts of the present government peace has been restored in Balochistan, Karachi, KPK and other parts of the country.

The other countries now were releasing the importance of the Pakistan which has also restored the confidence of the foreign countries on the present leadership of the country.

Pakistan, he said, the only country in the world which has achieved the goal of peace in the world in the current situation when terrorism was prevailing in the whole world adding that they were now consulting us how to control terrorism.

Baligh said that the duration of load shedding has been reduced and a contract has also been inked with Qatar to import LNG to overcome the energy crisis.

He said the construction work on water dams including Bhasha, Dasu, Nelum Jehlum was underway to meet the need of the water and power in the country.

“National Action Plan (NAC) was being implemented in the country as we can see the incidents of terrorism have been controlled as compared to its ratio in the past.”

The government was also determined to equip youth of the country with technical skills and professional training through Prime Minister’s Youth Program so that they can get jobs in industries both nationally and internationally.

In this regard, he said that government was making efforts to create linkages between academia and industries.

Baligh ur Rahman urged the federal business community to support National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) working for the promotion of education in the rural areas of the country.

He said the NCHD was making all out efforts to impart free education to the poor in the far flung areas of Pakistan by using method of Multi Educational System.

He said that 12,000 children in the rural areas were getting education through these community based schools.

The expensive of each of the school were about 150,000, the minister said and offered the business community that they can rename these schools with their dear ones.

The representatives of the Chamber of Commerce told the minister that they were ready to take benefit from the students studied in the best universities of the world.

They said that these students would be hired in our industries as they are the assets of the country.

In this regard Islamabad Chamber of Commerce would contact to the Higher Education Commission which is striving hard for the academia-industries linkage.
