ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Secretary at the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has said that every possible steps will be taken for the revival of the Telephone Industries of Pakistan (TIP) through joint venture.

During his visit to the TIP Haripur on Monday which he made on the direction of the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui said that TIP is the historical factory and it is our asset where we can run many businesses to generate revenue for Country’s benefit and development.

Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that every effort would be made to make TIP a best revenue generating body. He added that TIP will be made an important element for the Country’s development.

The federal secretary said that revival of TIP is vital to utilize it in better way especially catering needs of IT industry of Pakistan.

The Federal Secretary at the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication also visited various departments, workshops and sites of the TIP.

The Managing Director (MD) TIP Taimur Khan briefed the federal secretary about the functions and working of the factory.

The federal secretary also ensured to resolve all issues of the employees of TIP and issued directions to Managing Director TIP in this regard.

While reviewing the status of TIP, he desired that an advertisement for Expression of Interest (EOI) be prepared in consultation with Privatization Commission and brought it before the Board of Directors (BoD) meeting of TIP by the end of August.
