Reports from Delhi suggest that Indian authorities suspended internet service to Srinagar to stop posting of celebrating messages on social media. No social media posting was found after 2300 hours of Indian Standard time.

The martyrdom of Burhan Muzffar Wani in last May has changed political scenario in occupied valley where Kashmiri youth is expressing its desire to leave Indian occupation fearlessly. Students including school going girls are contesting the writ of the Indian forces by pelting stones on armoured vehicles moving around in streets of Srinagar.
A number of Kashmiri students were sacked last year from Delhi University when they were found chanting slogan in favour of Pakistani cricket team. Such cases were also reported from Lakhnow and other Indian states.

AFP news agency reported that young men gathered in mass at TV shops across Srinagar as Pakistan belied expectations to thrash Virat Kohli’s team by 180 runs at the Oval in London.
Young boys were waving flags of Pakistan and chanting slogans including Pakistan Zindabad (long live Pakistan).
